Elder Eric Hood

 

Reverend Eric Hood, born on September 11, 1968, is the eldest son of Deacon Willie and Deaconess Patricia Hood. He felt a divine calling at 13 and began his ministry in the military at 19 in Germany, where he was ordained as a deacon during Desert Storm. After returning to the U.S., he served at Morning Star Institutional COGIC and later became pastor of Greater Works Ministries in Rome, Georgia, after being ordained by Bishop Calvin Hooper. Although he stepped down upon moving to Atlanta, he continued outreach efforts, focusing on veterans and mental health. He is senior pastor of “The Meeting Place” and joined Shiloh Baptist Church in Trenton, New Jersey, in fall 2024. Reverend Hood is married to Evangelist Melinda L. Hood, with four children, including their late son, Michael Yo’el. His life exemplifies obedience, perseverance, and a commitment to God and community service.

 

Evangelist Melinda Hood

 

Born on October 12, 1997, in Rome, Georgia, Evangelist Hood has always been connected to the church. A devoted member of LoveJoy Missionary Baptist Church, where her grandparents were founding members, Melinda grew up dedicated to serving the Lord. At a young age, she committed her life to Christ, actively participating in the choir, usher board, and as a youth leader. After accepting her calling in 1998, God has powerfully utilized her in the ministry of evangelism. Her gentle and humble spirit has opened many doors, establishing her as a remarkable woman of God. Currently, she serves alongside her husband as the Co-Pastor of The Meeting Place Ministries.
